Realty Specialist

Duties listed are for the full performance level GS-11. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will be more closely supervised and your work will be more closely reviewed. You will advise and provide expertise on lands and realty related matters. Case work includes a full array of realty actions, primarily energy-related Right of Way (ROW) applications. You will also work on land disposals, acquisitions, withdrawals, revocation, classifications; lands use permits, leases, renewals, assignments and trespass detection and abatement. In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade (GS-05 to qualify for the GS-07 and GS-07 to qualify for the GS-09) of the position to be filled.To qualify for the GS-07 level:
You must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service OR have one full year of graduate level education OR Superior Academic Achievement (SAA). To find out more about SAA please refer to:

rights-of-way, temporary use permits, exchanges, public land sales, recreation leases/patents/airport leases/land classification, withdrawals, trespass, etc. or other public lands use authorization. To qualify at the GS-09 level:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in Federal Service OR Have a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR an LL.B or J.D. if related to the position being filled. Examples of specialized experience for the GS-09 level are knowledge of Realty actions related to public land management. This includes experience in locating and interpreting laws and regulations used in adjudication of individual rights and claims filed under public land law regulations; assisting in field exams casework process and preparation of environmental analysis and documents for various land cases. Education and experience may be combined to meet the specialized experience requirement for all grades.You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.Please note:
Real estate work in the private sector is not considered qualified unless the experience demonstrates specific relationship to public lands and issues.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
