Realty Specialist
You will advise and provide expertise on lands and realty related matters. Case work includes a full array of realty actions, primarily energy-related Right of Way (ROW) applications. You will also work on land disposals, acquisitions, withdrawals, revocation, classifications; lands use permits, leases, renewals, assignments and trespass detection and abatement. In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade (GS-09 to qualify for the GS-11) of the position to be filled.To qualify at the GS-11 level:
applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal Service; OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.M., if related; OR combination of education and experience. Specialized experience for the GS-11 level is defined as locating/interpreting laws and regulations used in adjudication of individual rights and claims filed under land law regulations; preparing environmental analysis and documents for various land cases. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.Please note:
Real estate work in the private sector is not considered qualified unless the experience demonstrates specific relationship to public lands and issues.
