Provide course descriptions as necessary. Specialized Experience Requirement:
GS-05-Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-4 grade level; OR a bachelor's degree or 4 years of successfully completed education above high school; OR combinations of successfully completed post-high school education (in excess of the first 60 semester hours) and specialized experience. Examples of specialized experience are:
greeting visitors and responding to phone and written inquiries personally or referring to other staff as appropriate; maintaining written records and files in electronic and/or hardcopy filing systems; and using word processing software and printing equipment to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print standardized documents ensuring correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and format. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. GS-06-Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level; OR one full year (18 semester hours) of successfully completed graduate level education if the coursework is directly related to the work of the position (for example - Administrative Management, Business Management, etc.); OR combinations of graduate level education that is directly related to the position and specialized experience. Examples of specialized experience are:
Providing support and assistance processing a wide variety of requisitions; reconciling purchases and maintaining files in accordance with Federal regulations and agency directives; processing incoming and outgoing mail; establishing and maintaining the unit's files, accountable property inventories, records, etc. (hardcopy and/or electronic format); and using automated software to produces reports, correspondence and other written documents in draft form. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT:
If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
