This position is located in Wyoming, in the Kemmerer Field Office. This office is responsible for the management of 1.4 million acres of public land and approximately 1.6 million acres of Federal mineral estate in the southwest corner of Wyoming. The area managed by the Kemmerer Field Office extends from Star Valley south to Evanston, and from the Green River near Fontenelle Reservoir west to the Utah border. The duties listed are for full performance level GS-6: Provide technical support and assistance in the area of rangeland administration. Incumbent will work with Range Specialists and be responsible for: maintaining all range files according to an established system; data entry and reporting in the Rangeland Administration System (RAS); maintaining the Rangeland Improvement Project System (RIPS) file management, and occasional field work to assist the Range Specialists with compliance inspections.
At the GS-5 level, this is a developmental position. The incumbent completes routine and recurring tasks with less supervision. More difficult assignments are closely reviewed by the supervisor.
Physical Demands: Position requires intensive field work in remote areas by foot, horseback, and four wheel drive vehicles. Some heavy lifting may be required. Must be able to drive a government vehicle both two wheel and four wheel drive in extremes of temperature and climate conditions. There are no minimum education requirements for this position, however if you are substituting your education for specialized experience, you must submit a copy of all transcripts. Specialized experience is defined as: perform work in the conservation, regulation, and use of public or Federally controlled lands for grazing; conduct range research activities; work in the operation of a livestock ranch; OR Four (4) years of education above high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite; OR Equivalent combination of education and specialized experience. To be qualified for the GS-6 level applicants must have: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as: work in the operation of a livestock ranch or in assisting in the management or preservation of lands comparable to the public range: OR, completed six months of graduate level college education related to range assistant work such as a major study in forestry, or a subject-matter field directly related to this position; OR, equivalent combination of specialized experience and education.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
